(96) veteran of WWII, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Congressional Gold Medal and Purple Heart recipient, peacefully passed away on April 29, 2013 in Simi Valley after a brief illness. He was born in Parlier, CA but lived in Kingsburg most of his life until he moved to Nikkei Senior Gardens in Arleta, CA on his 95th birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Yamada; children, JoAnn (Neil) Komai and David (Leslie) Yamada; granddaughter, Allison Yamada; brothers, Hidemi (Ellen) and Suyenori (Toni) Yamada; sisters-in-law, Hatsuki and Yoshi Yamada, Edith (Art) Mikamo; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
