(84) passed away on May 21, 2011 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his children, Richard Chida and Robert Hongo; siblings; George (Mitzi) Hongo, Jessie Painter and Mery Noguchi; also survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives.

A private funeral service was held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Johrei Fellowship Los Angeles Center with Rev. Richard Furukawa officiating.
