Mieko Hatanaka (93), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; Pahoa, Hawaii born Sansei, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2021 in Gardena. Private services were held at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
She is survived by her son, Frank (Lory) Hatanaka; daughter, Carol (Thomas) Ono; sisters, Toyomi Shoji and Nobue Hirakawa of Hawaii, Fusako (Greg) Sakauye; brother, Takashi Tsutsui; seven grandchildren, Kristine, Sandra, Allyson, Michael, Ryan, Noreen, Garrick; nine great- grandchildren, Logan, Ariya, Thomas, Josh, Kate, Cassie, Maddie, Kamryn, Dylan; also survived by other relatives.
