A private funeral service for Chieko Miyake, 83 year-old, Irvine, CA born Nisei, who passed away on April 12, 2011 in Carlsbad was held on Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Memorial Chapel of Kubota Nikkei Mortuary with Rev. John Iwohara from Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Shinichi Miyake; sons, Richard Kaoru (Debra) and Rex Toru (Cherry) Miyake; grandchildren, Christopher, Alyssa, Bryan and Mia Miyake; siblings, Toshiko Senmaru and Toyoko (Masakatsu) Moko, both of Japan; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in U.S. and Japan.
