A funeral service for Chizuko Sumiyoshi, 79 year-old, Hiroshima, Japan born Issei, who peacefully passed away on January 31, 2009 in Los Angeles, will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:30PM at the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 12371 Braddock Dr., Culver City, CA. Additional parking will be available at the Venice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Drive, LA, CA. Family requests flowers to be omitted and for casual attire. 

She is survived by her husband, Iwao Sumiyoshi; daughter,Yuko Arlene (Hideaki) Suzuki, Seiko Sumiyoshi of Reno, NV, Bob Sumiyoshi, Flora (Wayne) Wong of Seattle, WA, Richard (Jocelyn) Sumiyoshi, Ed Sumiyoshi of Sacramento, CA, Doug Sumiyoshi of San Francisco, CA; 5 siblings in Japan; 2 brother and sister in laws in Japan; grand children, Zia and Jeren Suzuki, Erika, Corey and AJ Sumiyoshi; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
