(80) peacefully passed away on September 23, 2008 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his Wife, Yoshiko Shimabukuro; son, Jimmy (Jovie) Shimabukuro; daughter, Mary Shimabukuro; siblings, Chiyo Higa, Thomas (Yasuko) Shimabukuro, Masako (Kiyoji) Takaesu, and Takemasa (Fumie) Shimabukuro; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
