(89) passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles on December 26, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was a retired civil engineer for the City of Los Angeles and a veteran of WWII. He is survived by his children, Charles (Sue) Mayeda, Ann (Mark) Schaefer from Port Washington, NY, Amy (Reggie) Thibodeaux, and Lynn Foxx; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lauren Mayeda, Amy, James, and Eric Schaefer, Clay and Cameron Thibodeaux; also survived by other relatives.

A funeral service will be held under the auspices of the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 4:00PM at Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 12371 Braddock Dr., Culver City. Additional parking will be available at the Venice Japanese Community Center, 12448 Braddock Dr., LA.
