(73) passed away on May 7, 2012, in Los Angeles. She is survived by her husband, Yoshinori Akutagawa; daughters, Yuki Linda (Christopher) Kho and Susan Emi (William) Shimada; grandsons, Ryan Hideyoshi and Rex Kiyoshi Shimada; sisters, Setsuko (Takao) Sorida, Masae Wakimoto, and Yoriko Wataya, the last in Japan; mother-in-law, Torako Akutagawa; sister-in-law, Kayoko Hatta; brothers-in-law, Shoji (Kazuko), Mitsunobu (Emi) and Masahiro (Ruth) Akutagawa; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in U.S. and Japan.

A funeral service will be held under the auspices of LA Hompa Hongwanji BWA on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 7:00PM at LA Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. 1st St., LA.
