(92) peacefully passed away on February 27, 2013 in West Covina, CA. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hatakeyama; children, Kris (Akemi) Hatakeyama, Nancy (Raymond) Maekawa, and Joy (Calvert) Kitaura; grandchildren, Michael (Charliese) Waldroup, Emi and Kenji Hatakeyama, Randy and Kevin Maekawa, Callen (Ryan) Shimomura, and Kimberly and Tami Kitaura; three great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00AM at East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center, 1203 W. Puente Ave., West Covina, with Bishop Noriaki Ito from Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple officiating.
