Held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Green Hills Memorial Park.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. There were many trips to the Sierras
For fishing at June Lake Loop and Mammoth Lakes. She especially treasured family
Travels to Alaska and Japan; and celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in New Zealand.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dickie Kawano; children, Tracy (Grant)
Nakaoka and Keith Kawano; granddaughter, Audrey Nakaoka; siblings, Beverly (Barry Webber)
Sugita, Lois Carter, and Brian (Kathy Iwahiro) Sugita; nephews, John (Kimmi) Sugita and
Michael Stebbins; great-niece and great-nephews, Tawni, Kyle and Bret Sugita; also survived by many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sugita.
