(84) veteran of WWII passed away on August 28, 2010 in Torrance. He is survived by his wife, Christine Uriu; children Karen (Mitsu) Nakamura, Mark (Beverly O’Mara) Uriu, Candice (Steve) Yokomizo, Marcia and Kevin (Goril Lynghaug) Uriu; stepchildren Craig, Neil, and Gwen Muranaka, Jane (Michael) Lebbin, Ronald, Mark, and Rick (Mariellen) Taniguchi; 14 grandchildren; siblings Fumiko Uriu, Dr. Dale (Grace) Uriu, Dr. Stanley Uriu; brother-in-law Roy Sumi; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 3:00PM at Riviera United Methodist Church, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA with Rev. Mark Nakagawa from Centenary United Methodist Church officiating. The family request the flowers be omitted.
