(72) passed away on April 6, 2011 in Gardena. He is survived by his wife, Keiko Hirata; daughters, Mihoko (Frank) Kawakami and Grace Izumi (Satoru) Yoshikawa; grandchildren, Manami and Takayoshi Kawakami; siblings, Aiko Tanaka, Mitsuo (Wakae) Hirata and Mutsuko (Fumikiyo) Kumagai, all of Japan; father-in-law, Naoshi (Ritsuko) Suefusa; cousins, Takashi (Kayoko) Takasaki and Kiyoko (Tsuneo) Tan; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was well-known as the owner of Hirata Camera in Gardena.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Gardena Buddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena.
