(91) passed away on February 1, 2011 in Santa Monica. He is survived by his wife, Mutsuko Kato; brother, Akira (Chiyeko) Kato; sisters-in-law, Kazuko (Norio) Hashiguchi and Ikuko Kano both of Japan; nephews, Ron (Virginia), Alex (Julie) and Gary Kato; niece, Lisa (Larry) Drexsler; also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews and other relatives.

A private funeral service was held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Memorial Chapel of Kubota Nikkei Mortuary conducted by Toho No Hikari (Light from the East).
