(89) peacefully passed away on February 23, 2009 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his daughters, Jeanne (Robert) Egusa and Beverly (Tom) Hori; brother, Joe Kawata; sister-in-laws, Lily Endow from Carpinteria, CA and Takane Kawata from Monterey, CA; grand children, Kristin and Ellen Egusa and Alison Hori; caregivers, Egbert and Diowil; also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at NichirenBuddhist Temple, 2801 E. 4th St., LA, CA.
