(74) passed away on June 5, 2009 in Gardena. He is survived by his wife, Sachie Shimabukuro; sons, Hitoshi Mike (Ryoko) and Tsutomu Shimabukuro; daughters, Chikako Canas and Eriko (Jeff) Chaves; step-sons, John (Kazumi) of Osaka, Japan, Richard (Carli) and Scott (Heather) Shelton of Cape Coral, Florida; brothers, Jinsei Shimabukuro of Okinawa, Japan and Seiko (Ayako) Shimabukuro; sisters-in-law, Yoshiko of Okinawa Japan, Setsuka and Chiyoko Shimabukuro of Okinawa, Japan; cousin, David (Chiyoko) Ikefuji; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 7:00PM at GardenaBuddhist Church, 1517 W. 166th St., Gardena, CA. Family requests that flowers be omitted.
