(79) passed away on July 12, 2009 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his son, David Masami Shimooka; brothers, Tadato (Daisy Mitsuko) and Yorio Shimooka both of Hawaii; sisters-in-law, Harumi Suzuki, Michiko Nakamoto, Itsuko (Katsuhiro) Sumiyoshi, and Yuriko (Joe) Furukawa all of Hawaii and Akiko (Kenji) Nishihara and Yoshiko Hashimoto; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 12371 Braddock Dr., Culver City.
