(88), born in Kingsburg, CA, passed away on May 20, 2012, in Los Angeles. She is survived by her husband, Joe Yamashita, Sr.; children, Joe (Julie), Tad (Iris), and Suanne (Chris Gonwa); daughter-in-law, Kathy; granddaughters, Lauren, Traci, Danielle, Sondra, Sarah, and Emma; sister, Yoneko (Lindberg) Kawahara; predeceased by her sister, Minori Shintaku; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A private funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the memorial chapel of Kubota Nikkei Mortuary with Rev. John Iwohara from Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
