(96) peacefully passed away on October 20, 2008 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his sons, Allan (Nancy), Neal, and Thomas (Judith) Shigemitsu; 11 grand-children and 8 great-grand children; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Shigemitsu; brother-in-law, Shiro Miota of Hawaii; sisters-in-law, Edna (Bob) Ige, and Bertha Tanda, both of Hawaii; pre-deceased, by his son, Herbert Shigemitsu and wife, Doris Shigemitsu; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Chapel of Kubota Nikkei Mortuary, 911 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA with Rimban George Matsubayashi of Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
