A private funeral service for Yoshifumi Jim Sugita, 89 year-old, Los Angeles, CA born Nisei, Veteran of World War II, who passed away on October 2, 2011 in Inglewood, was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Kubota Nikkei Mortuary with Rev. Kakuryu Kodani from Senshin Buddhist Temple officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Sugita; sister, Yoshie (Yas) Tashima; sister-in-law, Patsy (Junji) Doami; nephews, Hideo Sugita and Craig Tashima; niece, Patricia Tashima; also survived by many other nieces, nephews and relatives.
